Weather: A bright sunny day but yet again the ground was dry and crisp with the lack of rain, a little of which was forecast for the following day.

New Records:
New to Hampshire: Endogone flammicorona

Report: In what is turning out to be one of the driest springs for many years the ground was distinctly crisp. This site usually has a wonderful profusion of Mitrula paludosa in the spring but although present and in good condition they were but a shadow of their usual glory. There was however, as usual, something of interest. Paul rolled a log and was greeted by a vivid yellow polypore at almost the sametime as Sue found the same on another log fifty yards away. It was recognised as Antrodia xantha. Near the end of the foray a few specimens of an Inocybe caused much photography and interest but the specimen defied subsequent identification. Sue found a small truffle (not edible) which was sent to Carol Hobart who has a special interest in these and identified it as Endogone flammicorona, a species with only two previous English records both in the 19th century. There are a couple of other places in Scotland where it has been found.
