Weather: Following two days of severe frosts and snow the cars were loosing their grip in the carpark and the forayers were loosing a grip on reality!

New to Hampshire: Hyphodermella corrugata
Report: Although the possibility of calling off the foray had crossed the minds of one or two a decision was made to have a quick foray before retiring to the warmth and hospitality of Eric's house. It was interesting trying to identify fruitbodies covered in ice although those hiding under logs were still warm and cosy. Sue was determined to check every bit of ivy to repeat last week's find of Nectria sinopica, however after an hour of fruitless searching Alan took over and walked up to clump of ivy and produced a specimen as a magician would a white rabbit from a hat. And what is more he still expected a share of the food afterwards! It will be interesting to see if it turns out not to be as rare as the records would suggest. To have a list of over sixty records in a couple of hours in the snow and ice was a remarkable achievement. The group is once again grateful to Sue and Eric Janke for inviting us back for lunch and seasonal good cheer to conclude another enjoyable year for the group.
