Weather: A glorious sunny day if somewhat windy on the hilltop. The previous week had seen some showers but no prolonged rainfall.

Report: This was a new site for the group situated high on the downs above Stockbridge affording magnificent views across the county. Apart from a couple of Agrocybe most of the records came from those dwelling on wood and plants with several rusts found by JP who has been 'into' them this spring. Mark Jackson took us through a quick guide to sorting out buckthorn, alder buckthorn and dogwood all bushes that were very much in evidence. The site has many juniper bushes and we hoped to find the rust Gymnosporangium clavariiforme or tongues of fire named after its dramatic appearance on plant stems. Eventually Alan found some but sadly the fire was now more like embers but an exciting find nevertheless.
